3/2/2020 Day one of the MVC tourney was held in the UNI Dome; photo. Six Panthers placed in the top three with one placing first. Six members of the men's team advanced to the finals; Isiah Trousil, Tayshaun Cooper, Eli Hicks, Jack Sumners, Wal Khat, and CJ May. The six women were; Hannah Schau, Megan Hudson, Taylor Raines, Tyler Gray, Dianna Slight, and Katie Nimrod. Another six athlete received all-conference honors: Chase Van Sant, Jack Sumners, Kyler Lodts, Darius King, Isabelle Holtzen, Cam Bauer.

12/12/2019 The men's basketball team has been rolling through their competition so far this season. turning heads after finishing last season with a 16-18 record. Fast forward nine months, the Purple and Gold are off to a 9-1 start with a top 25 upset over Colorado under their belt A.J. Green hit a clutch three-pointer with one minute left to play, tying the game at 76. Spencer Haldeman came up with a big steal that resulted in a layup to put UNI ahead 78-76 with 45 seconds remaining. The Panthers were able to finish off their night with a 79-76 upset over Colorado, their first win over a ranked team since 2016.

12/9/2019 The Panther defense gleamed brightly once again this season as the Purple and Gold played in a rematch against South Dakota State on Saturday, December 7 for a spot in the quarterfinals. The Panthers will be back in action as they travel to Virginia for a fight to get to the semifinals against James Madison.

11/21/2019 UNI Wrestling traveled to Evanston, Illinois to battle the Wildcats. The final score was 24-20, with a UNI loss. Northwestern started out the day and took the first two matches, but UNI picked up the next match before losing the next two. The Panthers did not play their best at this meet, however, have hope for the future.

Volleyball Head Coach Roberta (Bobbi) Petersen tied the record for the most wins in UNI Volleyball history. Set at 503 career victories in a sweep over Missouri State. 10/31/2019 UNI Volleyball won 3-0 versus Indiana State. This completed volleyball head coach Roberta "Bobbi" Petersen's 500th won game. This made her the second coach in UNI history to reach this goal. She is only three more wins away before she beats her former boss and the previous head volleyball coach, Iradge Ahrabi-Fard, who still holds the record of most wins in UNI History.

9/26/2019 The UNI Volleyball team traveled to Milwaukee to compete at the Marquette Invitational. They finished 2-1 to round out the weekend. The girls lost against Marquette Golden Eagles but won against St. Louis and Wisconsin-Green Bay. This tourney also moved Karlie Taylor up to sixth place in all-time kills in UNI history and Rachel Koop moved to the 10th place in assists to achieve 2,000 assists.
