265 A Cappella Choir Tours Northeast Iowa

6/1/1960 A Cappella Choir consists of men and women who shoe special interests and outstanding ability in choral music. The Choir makes its first appearance at the traditional tree lighting ceremony in December and joined the Women's Chorus in song. The Choir sand at other important events and traveled around Iowa to perform at other colleges.

The finalists were Jo Ann Tekippe, Judy Larson, Joyce Schutter, Vicky Jacob, Sharon Wykle, Judy Nelson, Kay Hampel, Susan James, Shirley Peterson, and Patricia Thompson. Crowned queen of the event was Mary Eleanor Paulk.

6/1/1960 The Art Department's private collection grew as many pieces were donated to them. To showcase this, students and other communities members had the opportunity to view the traveling art exhibits. Under the sponsorship of the Art Department, Kappa Pi was apart of many of the department events.

272 Bartlett Houses Freshman Women

6/1/1960 Bartlett is one of the oldest dorms on campus and houses approximately 400 freshman women and 46 counselors. The students are able to participate in social hours, resident events, social services, and creating fundraisers. Counselors headed the governmental units until the freshman elected their own. House council is composed of chairmen from each corridor. The highest unit of organization was the executive council made up of four executive officers and seven committee chairmen; Photo.

The board selects the executive staffs of the Old Gold and College Eye and see that they function properly. KYTC is governed by the Board of Control of Student Broadcasting. They select the staff and determine policies the station will fallow.

6/1/1960 Campbell is home to the junior and senior women. Each dorm has a personal telephone- a unique feature personal to Campbell. The hall held special dinners for Dad's Day, Homecoming, Christmas, and Mother's Day. The dorm also holds many dorm activities through out the year.

6/1/1960 The Chapel Service at the College Interdenominational Church Service is where the weekly performances from the Chapel Choir can be viewed outside of Baccalaureate. Miss Jan Mauck is the choir director and Miss Shirley Usher is the Organist. Dr. David Bluhm of the philosophy department officiates Sunday church services.
280 Children's Theater- "Land of the Dragon"

6/1/1960 "Land of the Dragon" was the play preformed by the Children's Theater. The story originates from China and involves the adventures of a princess, her hero, and his dragon. It was preformed in the traditional style of Chinese theater with property men, invisible to the audience, carried props on and off stage or was used as props themselves.

6/1/1960 The College Eye is the campus newspaper and is dedicated to meat every Thursday deadline at the print shop. A six page issue is released every Friday and help inform the student body of both campus events and school happenings. The college paper is also a great why for students to see advertisements from local businesses.

6/1/1960 One of the year's highlights was Dimensions in Jazz. The concert DIJ #11 was extra special when Don Gold, assistant jazz editor and jazz promotion director of Playboy, was the emcee. Original compositions such as Leonard Feather's "Prancer", Dick Scott's "It Goes Like So," and Chuck Mandernach's "Blue, Like Blue" were performed. Donna Musgrove, Jerry Christensen, and the Phi Mu Quartet were also featured. Dimensions in Jazz is sponsored by the Beta Nu Chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity.

299 Health Service Provides Medical Advice and Service
