4/15/2021 The UNI women's soccer team went up against the Illinois State Redbirds for the Missouri Valley Conference tournament quarterfinal matchup. The game was tied 1-1 and went into overtime twice, but the Panthers lost 3-0 causing the spring season to end. The team is tentatively schedule to begin playing the 2021 season next fall.

4/8/2021 The UNI Panther volleyball team took the court in the Missouri Valley Conference against Drake and Loyola-Chicago. UNI beat Drake on Thursday, winning by scores of 25-19, 25-21, and 25-20. On Friday, UNI fell to Loyola-Chicago 3-1 by scores of 17-25, 25-17, 24-26. The Panther's season will end as they did not receive an at-large big for the NCAA tournament.

3/9/2020 Despite being the number one seed entering the tournament, the UNI Panthers Men's Basketball team lost 77-56 in the first round against the Drake Bulldogs. This loss puts their chances of making it to the NCAA Tournament at risk.

3/2/2020 Day one of the MVC tourney was held in the UNI Dome; photo. Six Panthers placed in the top three with one placing first. Six members of the men's team advanced to the finals; Isiah Trousil, Tayshaun Cooper, Eli Hicks, Jack Sumners, Wal Khat, and CJ May. The six women were; Hannah Schau, Megan Hudson, Taylor Raines, Tyler Gray, Dianna Slight, and Katie Nimrod. Another six athlete received all-conference honors: Chase Van Sant, Jack Sumners, Kyler Lodts, Darius King, Isabelle Holtzen, Cam Bauer.

Northern Iowa took the top-five spots in the shot-put along with three top-three finishes across the board. The Valley has earned its reputation to be taken seriously come March Madness. All year, Northern Iowa has proven themselves to be the cream of the crop in the Valley. While many around the league agree that the Panthers are one the top teams in the Valley this season, the scheduling in the conference is one of the most grueling in the nation.
