1/27/2020 Northern Iowa Student Government has teamed up with Active Minds, Black Student Union, To Write Love on Her Arms and UNI Counseling Services to help coordinate this event. Sarah Rassing, a graduate student and NISG Director of Mental Health helped coordinate the events to hopefully make this annual. Brian Nissen emphasizes the importance of students to the university, as well as Jennifer Schneiderman, director of counseling services at UNI helps students know the help campus provides. Events will be held all week in honor of You Matter; photo.

10/7/2019 The UNI Counseling Center has changed its scheduling policy for the 2019-2020 school year. Counseling sessions, which had previously been unlimited for students under the mandatory student health fee, are now limited to five per year. Any additional sessions must now be billed to the student's health insurance. The reason for the change is partially based on declining enrollment; photo.
5 Another UNI student passes away

2/25/2019 A February 20 announcement informed the UNI community that student Brendan Hartman had passed away on February 16. The February 17 deaths of students Tristan Marlow and Justin Kime had previously been announced.
6 Counseling Center sees backlash

1/18/2018 A tagline used by the Counseling Center using the phrase "worrywarts" has upset some students. One student said the tagline has caused people they know to no longer support the center because the center made light of a serious condition; photo.
