Constitution Day Address confronts slavery's legacy

Article Summary
UNI and Cedar Vally community members crowded into the Great Hall of the Gallagher Bluedorn Performing Arts Center (GBPAC) on September 16 to hear Nikole Hannah-Jones deliver the UNI 2019 Constitution Day Address. Hannah-Jones told the audience she would "be going a bit rogue" and would not be speaking on school segregation, but instead on the 1619 project. After the lecture, there was a 20-minute question-and answer-session with Hannah-Jones.; photo.
