Joy E. Mahachek

Retired from the chairmanship of the department of mathematics at Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1964. Since that time she has worked with public school teachers who are teaching elementary mathematics with a modern approach. She has also worked with the Pennsylvania State Department of Public Instruction on an information retrieval project connected with series of elementary mathematics books which have a modern approach to the subject.
