13 Glee Club 'sleighs' at annual Variety Show

The Varsity Men Glee Club's 42nd annual Christmas Variety show was held in the Gallagher Bluedorn Performing Arts Center (GBPAC) on December 6 and 7. In addition to holiday and non-holidays songs, the event included some student-written material. Alum Paul Marlow emceed the show, and other performers included Father Paul Peters, alum Sharrie Wright, Orchesis Dance Company, SingPins, and UNITUBA; photo. 18 UNI professor earns Fulbright to Israel

UNI Assistant Professor of Digital Media Philip Hopper will be embarking on his second Fulbright experience in spring 2020. Hopper will be traveling to Israel to collaborate with Professor Boaz LevTov and together, accompanied by a team of students, will expand upon the LevTov Time Travel Tunnel Project. The project is to expand upon the oral history and families that live in an area called the Triangle that includes a population of mostly Palestinians or Israeli Palestinians. Hopper and LevTov hope to explore more of the area and people's history and share it with the outside world and Israeli diaspora; photo.

22 Exploring representation in theatre

TheatreUNI presented "Anything You Can Do, I Can Do...?" on September 6 and 7 in the Bertha Martin Theatre. The show was developed over the summer by assistant professors of theatre Jim Bray and Amy Osatinski, who were awarded a fellowship from the Graduate College at UNI for its production. With the help of students identifying as black or Latinx, the show's theme concerned historical representation of Asian, Latinx, black, Jewish, and LGBTQ+ people in theatre with a mix of lightheartedness and seriousness; photos.
