1 Beginning Teacher Salaries Announced The "good ol' days" when school teachers got $8 a month plus room and board are gone forever--and good riddance, says E. W. Goetch. The 9-month salaries for beginning teachers placed this fall range from $200 to over $400 per month.
2 Elementary Conference at Teachers College Olga Adams, of the University of Chicago elementary schools, will speak on "Learning Experiences for Today's Young Child," said William Dreier of the conference committee.
3 State Teachers Professor to White House Conference James V. Farrell, assistant professor of teaching, has been invited to a conference in Washington, D. C. Don R. Scott, assistant professor of rural education, also received an invitation to the national meeting but will be unable to attend.
4 Vocational Courses Include Business One of the more unique high school vocational training courses is the "Distributive Education" (or D-E) program of part-time school work and part-time practical selling experience in a retail store. Pupils in 13 Iowa high schools are benefiting.
