1 Handicapped children are children, first; children with some limitations, second, say an authority on that group's education Francis E. Lord of Ypsilanti, Michigan, director of the Horace Rackham School of Special Education at Michigan State Normal College, spoke to about 105 persons attending a special education conference. He urged against segregation.
2 John Powell, of the Music faculty, will sing German, French, English, and American songs at his recital Sunday at 8 p.m. in the college auditorium John Powell will be accompanied by Daphne Powell. Powell sang the lead in "The Desert Song," staged during the war by the Army Air Force. He has soloed in New York's Town hall, on radio networks, and appeared in concerts throughout the East and South.
3 The 1951 summer session of the Iowa State Teachers college branch school in Missouri Valley will be the fourth such session held there William H. Drier, instructor in education, will direct the June 11 to August 17 session. The first session held in Missouri Valley, in 1923, was under the direction of H. L. Eells. The sessions of 1943 and 1945 were directed by J. B. Paul.
