1 About 10 Iowa college Canterbury clubs will meet at St. Luke's Episcopal church here May 4-5 The purpose is to discuss a state charter for a proposed Iowa Canterbury association. The clubs are campus student chapters of the Episcopalian church.
2 Classes will not be held Friday, April 27, for elementary pupils in the Campus school Thomas Horn, elementary principal, announced that the 12-week teacher-parent conferences, rather than regular classes, will be scheduled that day. Arrangements will be made for parents who can't come between the appointed hours.
3 President J. W. Maucker announced today that a Waterloo attorney will represent the state board of education in handling claims of three contractors The attorney, John W. Gwynne, was appointed special assistant attorney general by Iowa Attorney General Robert E. Larson. The claims, totaling $205,050.85, are in connection with the delayed construction of Unit A of the proposed campus laboratory school.
4 Sarah Griffiths of London, England, was a Friday visitor on the campus. She is the woman organizer of England's National Union of Teachers, similar to this country's National Education association. Griffiths is on a 14-week nation-wide tour of educational institutions.
5 Tickets for Saturday night's, April 28, performance of "Darkness at Noon," spring play are almost sold out The four-night play will be the first non-professional performance of the current Broadway hit. A fifth performance will be presented Saturday afternoon for about 800 persons expected at the college's 18th annual drama conference.
