1 A former Grundy Center resident and alumnus has been named 1950 "Navy Chaplain of the Year." He is Commander Robert M. Schwyhart, senior chaplain of the Pensacola, Florida Naval Air Station. His award was the first of the Alexander D. Goode chapter of B'nai B'rith. Schwyhart is a veteran of the Korean War.
2 Eleven student members of the Industrial Arts club visited Chicago museum of science and industry Club Secretary James Goetch, Cedar Falls, reported that it was both an educational and recreational trip.
3 Emmetsburg will be the evening host Monday, April 30, to the Concert Band Conductor David Kennedy's once postponed 1951 tour will include Lattimer and Laurens, also on Monday, and three more concerts at Monson, Humboldt, Webster City on Tuesday.
4 Students and faculty are invited to a coffee session Sunday, April 29, at 3:30 p.m. in the Commons The coffee session is in honor of Tamara Daykarhanova, New York City drama teacher and actress. Madame Daykarhanova will be the principle speaker at Saturday's, April 28, 18th annual drama conference.
5 Two faculty members will leave by car Sunday, April 29, for New York City H. G. Palmer, and W. H. Wagner will be on the program of the four-day convention of the American Industrial Arts association. Both men will inspect the industrial arts program and facilities of the New York State Teachers college at Oswego.
