1 An illustrated talk on Alaskan anthropology will be presented Wednesday night by Dorothy Tostlebe Thompson A graduate student at Harvard university, Thompson made a study of the Nome Eskimos and the role of Eskimo women for her doctoral dissertation. She is a 1941 graduate of the college. Her talk is being sponsored by Pi Gamma Mu.
2 Dr. William Dreier will give the commencement address at Dinsdale, May 17 Dreier, of the education department at the college, will speak about "The Well-Balanced Life."
3 The biblical story of Elijah the Prophet will be told in song Sunday, May 20, at the college Roland Searight will direct the production. Tenor Maurice Gerow prepared the A Cappella choir, the College chorus and the Women's chorus for their roles in the oratorio. The song text is taken from many of the books of the bible.
4 Two talks on eastern Iowa's Amana colonies will be given Tuesday, May 8, by Dr. Raymond Schlicher Schlicher, assistant placement director at the college, will speak to the Waterloo Kiwanis club at noon on "Amana, The Community of True Inspiration." In the evening Schlicher will discuss "The History and Development of the Amana Colonies."
