1	Professor Guy Wagner and his colleagues have prepared special stories and reading exercises for the Reader's Digest	The project, begun five years ago, alled for six issues of the skill builder to be published--two each for grades four, five, and six. The last issue in the series rolled off the press early this fall.
2	The Howie Curtis Quintet is scheduled to play for the Crusade for Freedom dance Friday (Oct. 19)	The quintet will appear through the courtesy of the American Federation of Musicians Union, Local 334, and the Music Performance Trust Fund of Record Manufacturers, which is made up of proceeds from record sales throughout the country.
3	The Religious Education committee will participate in the Governor's Conference on Children and Youth, Wednesday, October 17, in Des Moines	Harold E. Bernhard, director of the bureau of religious activities, is chairman of the committee. Professor John P. Cowley of the English and speech department at the college is also a member of the committee as is the wife of Warner Hubbard.
4	The second music department faculty recital of the 1951-52 season will be held in the college auditorium, Sunday, October 21	Pianist Henry Harris, assistant professor of piano, the featured pianist, joined the college faculty in 1941. He was absent from the campus for two and a half years during the war while serving in the Navy.
