1 Myron E. Russell has been named as Iowa representative for the National Association of Schools of Music committee for young composers' radio awards Russell is head of the music department at the college. The purpose of the committee is to foster music composition in secondary schools and colleges through a systematic series of annual awards.
2 Ten coeds were selected as finalists in the annual Old Gold beauty contest this week during an all-campus election Four of the finalists will be judged as Old Gold Beauties, the remaining six as attendents, Saturday afternoon at a tea in the college Commons. Winners' names will be announced Saturday night at the Old Gold beauty dance. Finalists are listed.

4 Tickets for the winter play will go on sale Monday, February 11, at 7:30 at the college Crossroads The play, Henrik Ibsen's "Hedda Gabbler," will be presented by the college English and speech department in the college auditorium, February 14 - 16. Hazel B. Strayer is director of the production; Richard Arnold designed the scenery.
