1 'College class' held at Price Laboratory School Some students of Mr. Leland Hott at the Price Laboratory School are allowed to participate in the Social Science Seminar based on their Iowa Test of Educational Development scores. Professors William C. Lang and Donald Howard speak at the seminar.
2 Insurance available for SCI students A new group plan of accident and medical insurance is made available to students who seek coverage not provided by the usual student health insurance plan. A representative will be available at registration to accept applications.
3 Local student to receive degree from SCI One-hundred and ninety-one candidates receive degrees at the first commencement exercises of the State College of Iowa. One of those awarded at the commencement exercises is given the first specialist in education degree. Graduates listed.
4 Price Laboratory School summer draws to a close The Malcolm Price Laboratory School summer session comes to a close after holding programs in special education, a social science seminar, a junior high science and mathematics workshop, and classes for students in kindergarten through eighth grade.
5 SCI campus busy before fall The physical plant department resurfaces the tennis courts, moves the student health services, links the department of music to heating and electrical facilities, converts Gilchrist Chapel to a lecture hall, and renovates the Men's and Women's Gymnasiums.
6 SCI student returns from India Nancy Mitchell spent a period of one year in Madras, India at an all-girl school under sponsorship of the "Junior Year Abroad" program. While in India, Mitchell met with Prime Minister Jawahrlal Nehru.
7 Sky's the limit for some SCI students The families of Joseph Robinson and Robert Norris spend the summer camping while the two men attend class at the State College of Iowa.
