1 Four UNI students receive Nellie Dickey home economics scholarships The Department of Home Economics gave away four Nellie Dickey Scholarships based on high scholastic achievement, and contributions to university activities. Recipients were announced by Professor Ronald Chung.
2 Office hours until January 5, 1987 A memorandum from the Office of Public Relations, announcing their closing for winter break. Vicki Grimes, and Susan Chilcott remained available periodically for questions. The office was set to reopen on the fifth of January.
3 Students learn research skills, provide valuable public service through UNI course Professor Robert Kramer instructed a course which offered survey research experience. Students developed telephone surveys, questionnaires, and personal interviews for real world clients. The course was offered through the Department of Sociology.
4 Tomahawk honorary at UNI awards six scholarships Tomahawk distributed scholarships to six students based on need, academic activities, and work experience. The goal of the organization is to promote leadership among students.
5 UNI to offer free minority clerical training program A minority training program is offered. Participants are required to have a typing speed of forty words per minute, clerical service experience, and completion of a pre-test. Applications were due to the Center for Urban Education.
6 UNI to offer Minority Clerical Training Program this spring The Minority Clerical Training Program announces its accepting of new members. Inductees are required to have a typing speed of forty words per minute, clerical service experience, and satisfactory completion of a pre-test. Classes were held in Price Lab.
