1 UNI to offer 'administration of special education' in Marshalltown A course designed for school administrators was held in Iowa Valley Community College, as instructed by Professor Bill Callahan. Participants were prepared for planning programs in special education, and selecting appropriate instructional materials.
2 UNI to offer two courses in Clear Lake Professors Charles Dedrick, and Donna Raschke lead courses on instructional psychology, and practices for handicapped children. The courses were held in Clear Lake, and were sponsored by the Office of Continuing Education.
3 UNI to offer workshop on writing and reading in New Hampton A workshop on instructing writing to K-8 students was held in New Hampton Elementary School through the Office of Continuing Education. Participants were taught how to instruct revision, elaboration, and peer editing skills to their students.
4 UNI's Leslie recipient of distinguished service award from regional professional body Elly Leslie was named the recipient of the Distinguished Service Award by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education at their conference in Nebraska. Leslie was heavily involved in the Parents Association, as well as the Alumni Office.
5 UNI's publications program continues award winning tradition Members of the Office of Public Relations were granted the Exceptional Achievement award, and the Award of Merit from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education. They were recognized for their contribution to various university publications.
