1 Applications taken for $500 Clifford McCollum Science Scholarship Students with a major in the college of Natural Sciences are invited to apply for a scholarship provided by associates of Clifford McCollum, former dean of the College of Natural Sciences. Applicants must have ninety credit hours, and a gpa of 3.25.
2 First and second place wins in district tournament qualify UNI teams for nationals Two teams from the university debate program won first place in the District IV Qualifying Tournament, earning both of them a position in the National Debate Tournament. Team leaders were Keith Dotseth and Todd Syverson.
3 First place to UNI individual events team in largest MAFL tournament ever! The forensics team, coached by Professor Mary Ann Renz, took first place out of nineteen teams competing in the Mid-American Forensic League tournament. The team was accompanied by Rich West and Joan Talty, who are instructors in communication.
4 UNI students, Sartori Hospital to sponsor organ donor awareness week, March 4-11 The Dancer Hall staff and Sartori Hospital sponsor speaker, Alicia Smith, to talk about organ donation in Hemisphere Lounge in Maucker Union. Smith, an education coordinator of organ procurement, answered student questions.
