2 Talented and gifted pre-schoolers to learn about nutrition, drama, nature in summer UNI program Twelve pre-schoolers participate in a summer program for talented and gifted children, thanks to a support grant from the McElroy Trust. Instructors for the program include a mix of university faculty and students.
3 UNI teaching prof wins Rockefeller Foundation summer research fellowship James Becker, of the modern language department of Price Lab, is named one of one-hundred recipients of a research grant from the Rockefeller Foundation. Becker uses his grant to develop teaching materials on French fruit and vegetable cooperatives.
4 UNI to offer summer counseling program for children, adolescents, starting June 9 Children ages six through fourteen attend a five-week counseling workshop organized by Professor Ann Vernon. Counselors will help the children overcome eating disorders and depression, as well as school and family issues.
