1 'Colonial Christmas' to be new holiday 'treat' for area residents from NUHS Northern University High School hosts their Madrigal Dinner in Maucker Union. Decorations, music and food will follow the theme of Christmas in colonial America. Les Hale leads preparation for the event, and is assisted by the Price Lab faculty.
2 Alden senior at University of Northern Iowa receives Kappa Delta Pi scholarship Kappa Delta Pi Education Scholarships are given to Joy Ann Pingel and Anne Irene Kirpes. The scholarships were distributed at the organization's fall initiation ceremony.
3 Dubuque junior at University of Northern Iowa receives Kappa Delta Pi Scholarship Anne Irene Kirpes and Joy Ann Pingel are awarded with the Kappa Delta Pi Education Scholarship. Kirpes and Pingel were two of twenty-five students considered for the award.
4 Northern Iowa 'novices' score well in Twin Cities competition Nov. 17 Thirteen first-year members of the Individual Events team achieve a third place sweepstakes win at the Twin Cities Novice Tournament. The team was coached by Professor Mary Ann Renz, and accompanied by Professor William Henderson.
5 Northern Iowa will host the Iowa Student Photographers Conference Nov. 20-21 A collection of workshops are made available to young photographers at the Iowa Student Photographers Conference. The Office of Public Relations' Bill Witt is among the conference speakers.

7 UNI Faculty Club offers two scholarships to non-traditional students Applications are made available for the last of scholarships offered by the Faculty Club. Applicants must hold a grade point average of 3.4, have a history of community service, and display leadership qualities. Applications are sent to Joann Cummings.
