1 Lux Service Medallion nominations taken for outstanding UNI service by students Nominations are accepted for the Lux Service Award. Students must hold a 3.0 grade point average, with at least forty completed credit hours. Winners are recognized during the Homecoming ceremony.
2 Regional development issues symposium held in Maucker Union Experts from across Europe and the United States join for a regional development symposium held in Maucker Union. The event is sponsored by the Department of Geography, College of Social and Behavioral Sciences, and the Office of International Studies.
3 Two Northern Iowa students returning to Spain for second summer of study Keith Massey and Brian Granger return to Spain with Professor D. C. Hawley for an eight week program as peer advisors, despite conflicts caused by Granger's enlistment in the wrestling team.
4 University of Northern Iowa announces informational meeting for proposed graduate degree programs in Council Bluffs The Department of Curriculum and Instruction, and the Office of Continuing Education sponsor two informational seminars on elementary and early childhood education of gifted students in Council Bluffs.
5 University of Northern Iowa students offered a chance to study in Spain as part of the Iowa Regents Hispanic Institute Professor D. C. Hawley leads students from various accredited colleges in the Iowa Regents Hispanic Institute trip to Spain, where they will attend courses on literature, communication, and Spanish culture. Help is offered by the Financial Aid Office.
