1 Brindley Forensic Tournament at Northern Iowa to host teams from 31 high schools Friday-Saturday (Oct. 21-22). In individual events competiton, there are 140 entries in oratory; foreign or domestic extemporaneous speaking; and humorous, dramatic or duo interpretation categories. Sessions are open to the public.
2 Northern Iowa's Small Business Assistance Center to have open house and ribbon cutting ceremony, Oct. 28-29. The SBAC assists businesses in the state by working with them to develop safe economic ways of managing solid waste and hazardous sunbstances, said John Konefes, SBAC diector.
3 Regents hear reaccreditation report, approve acting library director, construction contract , other business for University of Northern Iowa. Donald Gray was named associate professor and acting director of library services, he repalces Barbara Jones. Tony McAdams was approved professor and head of the Department of Management.
4 University of Northern Iowa gives over 80 students on-the-job experience through fall co-op placements. List of participating students, working with a firm or town. Also listed is their hometown and what position they will hold.
