1 Autumn leaves are now burning leaves--pollution problems. Ron Camarata says leaves pose a real problem for landfills and garbage handlers in that bags of leaves are taking up a lot of space. The answer may be composting.
2 Dashing through the ice and snow-- winter time travel tips. Ivan Eland says with the proper precautions, you can make it through the next four or five months without any major accidents.
3 Drugs for hyperactive children-- necessary for learning? Sometimes yes. Ann Vernon says in most cases the drugs are needed for children who have problems because of hyperactivity. Drugs such as Ritalin are often used because other methods are not effective.
4 Is your television or radio on the blink? Blame it on sunspots. Tom Hockey says during the 1990s we will see sunspot activity peaking at levels that haven't been seen for over one hundred years.
