1 Black perspectives on education in Cedar Falls/Waterloo area is the topic of the next university of Northern Iowa history lecture, Wednesday (Feb. 1) Topic to be discussed include the relationship of employment opportunities to educational attainment; the opportunities for employment as professional educators and support staff in educational institutions; and curricula and text books.
2 Fayette county farmers to complete pesticide survey developed by University of Northern Iowa's SBAC. Confidential survey on farmer's pesticide storage and disposal, in what is planned as a state-wide program to help farmers with waste management concerns.
3 First place finish for Northern Iowa's individual events team at TCFL Jan. 24 First place went to UNI at the Twin Cities Forensic League Tournament. Seventeen colleges and universities competed. UNI entered nine students in various events.
4 Northern Iowa to offer seminar on acquaintance/date rape prevention February 2. Seminar will provided an opportunity to examine effective strategies to combat it and new information will be shared.
5 Radio/ TV Tips Prevention is the best best medicine for the common cold and flu. "Writing Across the Curriculum " a university-wide writing program being phased in over a three year period.
