1 Rural education topic for Northern Iowa conference April 7-9. Purpose of the conference is to analyze and discuss fundamental issues facing rural education organizations in the state of Iowa in this decade, establishing an agenda for collaborative action over a two year period.
2 Soviet foreign policy under Gorbachev and Soviet humor topics of political science presentations at the University of Northern Iowa April 10 and 11. Rolf Theen, professor of political science at Purdue University will present "Soviet Foreign Policy under Gorbachev: The Winds of Change" and " The Soviet Anecdote: Mirror or Prism of Soviet Reality," a look at the use and significance of Soviet humor.
3 University of Northern Iowa Soviet students to present folk concert at College Square Mall April 6. Concert will feature seven Soviet students who came to UNI in February as a result of the 1985 intergovernmental cultural affairs agreement between the U.S. and the Soviet Union.
4 University of Northern Iowa's Price Lab school to host State Geography Bee April 7. List of students particapating in the Bee, their teacher, school and hometown. The Bee is sponsored by the National Geographic Society. The national champion will receive a $25,000 scholarship.
