1	'Annual UNI student art exhibition' opens April 17 in Northern Iowa gallery of art.	Juror Roger Shimomura, chose works from among 212 entries by 71 students. He also selected the award winners who will be announced during the opening reception and awards ceremony (April 18.) Annual Art Scholarship Day Competition will be held April 14.
2	British archaeologist to discuss cave art Thursday (April 20) at Northern Iowa.	Paul Bahn will present a slide lecture. Bahn is author of, "Images of the Ice Age." He is also co-author of a major introductory textbook to archaeological evidence and methods. Bahn was an advisor to Richard Leakey for the popular anthological TV series.
3	Center Point junior at University of Northern Iowa receives Kappa Delta Pi scholarship.	Brenda Kaye Bean was awarded the $350 scholarship for her efforts in her area of study. Kappa Delta Pi is an education honor society. Other award recipients are Dana Kauzlarich of Rockwell and Kerri Potter of Dubuque.
4	Dubuque junior at University of Northern Iowa receives Kappa Delta Pi scholarship.	Kerri Potter majoring in political science education, was awarded $350 scholarship for her efforts in her area of study. Kappa Delta Pi is an education honor society.
5	Local students receive awards at 12th UNI school of business recognition banquet.	List of business students honored at banquet. Welcome given by Carey Kirk, opening remarks given by Paul Uselding and James Martin. Geust speaker was Tom Gould.
6	Northern Iowa's fraternities and sororities hold annual 'Greek Week' April 15-22.	"Greek Week" activities will take place during the week, a pig roast, opening ceremonies, the traditional Greek Sing and Skits, annual awards banquet and finally UNI's Greek system volunteers to run a Special Olympics track and field meet.
7	Regents approve new accounting department head, other business for University of Northern Iowa.	Gerald Smith named head of the Department of Accounting, he is replacing Gaylon Halverson. Board approved seven improvements, Gilchrist West and East parking lots; repair of East Gym ventilation system; sidewalk replacement near Baker Hall.
8	Regents approve suspension of University of Northern Iowa enrollment limitation beginning with 1989 Fall semester.	A policy presented to the Board, proposed two major changes- the establishment of a required high school curriculum and a tightening of admission guidelines for transfer students.
9	Risk awareness, standards for driver education are among topics at the 31st annual UNI safety education conference April 21 (Friday.)	Topics include "Risk Awareness," "Your Profession at Stake?," "New Accreditation Standards for Schools and School Districts," "Compliance Procedures," "Course Guide Development," "Legislative Update."

11	University of Northern Iowa's Price Lab School to hold statewide foreign language festival (FLF) April 22.	Students may participate in a variety of activities which require speaking the language they are studying. Three travel scholarship to foreign language students will be awarded.
