1 Higher education colloquium offered by University of Northern Iowa April 25. Colloquium will address new ways to conceive of and measure the effectiveness of community colleges. Richard Alfred will discuss implications for changing governance systems, faculty and administrative roles, and leadership development strategies.
2 Job market attractive for University of Northern Iowa school psychology graduates. The demand for school psychologist is growing not only in Iowa but nation wide. School psychologist are hired as educational consultant, a principal, a teacher, and a speech language pathologist.
3 Pi omega pi honorary initiates new members and elects officers at UNI. New initiates are: Kacy Bohach, Kelly Erpelding, Amy Hesiterkamp and Deanne Sweers. Elected officers are Tom Steffen, president; Susan Pearson, vice-president; Kelly Erpelding, secretary; and Amy Heisterkamp, historian.
4 Sumner student at University of Northern Iowa receives Elisabeth Sutherland Howes award. Christine Hoepfner has received the Outstanding Senior Award. Hoepfner was honored for outstanding scholarship, leadership, and service to the department and the University. She received the $1,000 at the Economics Alumni Ass
5 Three UNI graduate students receive home economics scholarships. Lynda Little, Pamela Gibbons and Pamela Ohrt received the scholarships for 1989-90.
