1 8th grade gradustions-- a part of educational past. During the days of the one-room school house , 8th grade graduation ceremonies were common. Recently such an event was held at Northern Iowa, where a restored one-room schoolhouse is located.
2 Leisure time fun can be deadly -- learn how to swim safely. Glen Henry says there is no excuse for not knowing how to swim. Most YMCA's and YWCA's as well as many colleges offer swimming lessons for people of all ages. People should never swim alone, on areas that are nor designated for swimming.
3 Northern Iowa's construction program recieves $185,000 worth of equipment and serivces from F.W. Dodge Division of McGraw-Hill. 5 University of Northern Iowa professor co-author of new standards for mathematics publication. Edward Rathmell, is one of the authors of "Curriculum and Evaluation Standards for School Mathematics," outlining reforms in mathematic standards for students in grades K-12.
6 University of Northern Iowa's construction program receives $185,000 worth of equipment and services from F.W. Dodge division of McGraw Hill. Contribution of $185,000 worth of equipment and services is enabling University of Northern Iowa students studying in the school's new construction program to have access to one of the most complete information services in the construction industry.
