1 Iowa industries save money, benefit environment with waste reduction projects; presented awards by Iowa waste reduction center at Northern Iowa. Certificates of Achievement, a $1,000 monetary award and a leather bound edition of "Iowa's Natural Heritage" will be awarded to The HON Company of Muscatine Rockwell International of Cedar Rapids, and Enviromiser of Cedar Falls.
2 Resident of Mexican University visits University of Northern Iowa. The rector of the University of Colima in Mexico will visit. Lic. Fernando Moreno will be accompanied by the general secretary and the athletic director of the University of Colima, Lic. Angel Mario Martinez and Sr. Ramon Barreda and their spouses.
3 Square wave-aere perennius. Nate Gottschalk spreads a sleeping bag among the 144 white nylon tents with neon fixtures attached which made up the world's largest neon temporary sculpture, "Square Wave-Aere Perennius."
4 Temporary closing of west 27th street segment on University of Northern Iowa campus needed of sanitary sewer hook-up July 31-Aug 14. West 27th street between Minnesota and Ohio street on the University of Northern Iowa campus will be closed temporarily, so contractors can extend the sanitary sewer hook-up to the classroom/office building under construction.
