1 'Rock around the clock' theme for University of Northern Iowa homecoming Oct. 21. The 1950s rock 'n' roll theme will provide the "umbrella" for a number of events, including hula hoop, limbo, and bubble gum contests for students and the traditional parade, football game and dance among other activities for returning alumni.
2 Exploring Iowa caves is like stepping into another world. Archeologists and paleontologists find caves invaluable troves of manmade artifacts, and sometimes well-preserved remains of plants, animals and even humans.
