1 Are the fish biting? It may depend on the weather. Walter DeKock says you can find where the fish are hiding by some simple weather observations. Knowing the habits of the fish you're trying to catch, combined with temperature and wind direction can increase the number of fish that make it to your table.
2 Chic clothing for the stylish senior citizen -- count polyester out! Carolyn Thomas says that elderly women want better selections and clothing that fits both their lifestyles and pocketbooks. She says the over 60 age group is a powerful consumer group that the clothing industry in the past has ignored.
3 First place in the 'Texas swing' for University of Northern Iowa individual events team in season's first competition. Doug Wehage took first place in after dinner speaking and fifth in communication analysis. Kevin Gilbertson was second in program oral interpretation and sixth in poetry interpretation. Ryan Siskow was second in communication analysis.
4 Flying high over Cedar Rapids and soon nesting in a city near you. David Conrads says introducing the falcons into city settings may help prevent extinction of the species. Falcon watchers are waiting for the birds to migrate, and adds that within two years, a pair should return to Cedar Rapids to nest.
