1	Austrian government awards medal to University of Northern Iowa professor.	Juergen Koppensteiner, a native of Austria and a graduate of the University of Graz, received the honor for his efforts to promote Austro-American cultural exchange, for his scholarship on Austrian literature.
2	Colwell junior at University of Northern Iowa participating in acoustics research project.	Andrew Schneider co-authored the paper "Low-Pitched Notes Associated with Large Bowing Forces in Violin Strings." The paper which explores the various tones that can be created on string instruments, was presented at the Acoustical Society of America.
