1 Chinese scholar to speak on University of Northern Iowa campus Feb. 13. Hongjin Kang will address "Recent Political, Social and Economic Events in the People's Republic of China and Their Impact on Students." She served as a China resource speaker, in 1984, and UNI sponsored her visits as well to the University of Iowa.
2 Four 'theatre pizazz' courses for children and youth to be offered by University of Northern Iowa, beginning Feb. 19. Four workshops for students, ranging from those with no previous experience to those involved in theatre training for several years, will be offered under the direction of Gretta Berghammer.
3 Majority of 21st century workforce will be minorities and women, and universities must prepare, says guest speaker at University of Northern Iowa. Charles Taylor stresses that when universities don't address issues of diversity and multi-cultural curricula, everybody loses. Diversity is especially important for teacher training institutions like Northern Iowa, Taylor said.
4 Spring enrollment record official at University of Northern Iowa. With 11,153 register for spring semester classes, this is the first time spring enrollment has topped 11,000 and breaks previous sprig records.
