1 'The Japan connection' to be explored April 12 &27 joint program at University of Northern Iowa. A public forum designed for Iowa companies intrested in doing business with companies in Japan as well as persons interested in the business and culture of the country.

Christina Scholl recently received an award for her involvement in residence hall activities and will be honored Feb. 15 at the Residence Hall Association Gold Star Award Banquet. 4 Renowned comedienne Elayne Boosler to perform Tuesday (Feb. 20) at University of Northern Iowa maucker union expansion grand opening. Boosler, originally from Brooklyn, has succeeded not only as a comedienne, but also a writer, actress, director and producer. She was "discovered" by the late comedian Andy Kaufman, while working as a singing waitress at a comedy club.
5 UNI students teachers completing their service in Iowa communities. List of students scheduled to have their student experience during the 1989-90 academic year have begun the first of two nine week student teaching assignments in student teaching centers throughout the state.
6 University of Northern Iowa to celebrate maucker union expansion Feb. 19-23. Activities during the Grand Opening week celebration begin with the Union's 21st birthday party and concludes with a dedication, dinner and dance honoring the building's namesake.
