1 Copier produced images to be featured in University of Northern Iowa gallery of art display cases March 1-31. "Illustrative Materials," an exhibition of copier-produced images by Sigrid Erica Casey will be on display. Using a Sharp CX5000S full color copier, Casey has generated images "that are simultaneously scientific and surreal" according to Richard Colburn.
2 French becomes a second language to Palos Hills, Ill. Native. Carol Warke is majoring in French and minoring in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. Warke hopes to teach English to French speaking regions .
3 Gang prevention/intervention model revealed by University of Northern Iowa professor. Clemens Bartollas says Iowans can no longer afford to deny that they have a growing gang presence, especially in metropolitan areas and prisons. The gangs of the '80s and '90s are tied closely to the illegal drug trade.
4 University of Northern Iowa students awarded TV news internships. Each year KWWL-TV, Channel 7, the NBC affiliate in Waterloo, gives 12 news internships to college students from area schools who are majoring in broadcast journalism. Four Northern Iowa students have be awarded.
