1 Award winners in Northern Iowa's annual juried student art exhibition announced. Eleven student art works were selected for the honors by Juror Bill Leaf, professor of art at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas. He selected the winners from among the 73 art works for the exhibition, representing the creative efforts of 56 students.

4 University of Northern Iowa graduate assistant searches for the bone marrow donor for friend with leukemia. Vicki Trent-Wilson has become an advocate of the Iowa Bone Marrow Program, a registry of potential marrow donors. A marrow type match occurs only once in 20,000 to 100,000 match attempts, the Iowa Bone Marrow Registry contains only 1,877 volunteer donors.
5 Volga freshamn at UNI testifies before senate subcommitee on disability funding. Kim Hurley recently traveled to Wasington, D.C., to testify before a Senate subcommittee on funding for the handicapped. Kim has has cerebral palsy since birth.
