1 Career workshop for area intermediate and high school students set for April 28, sponsored by "talent search" program at University of Northern Iowa. Sponsored by "Talent Search" program at UNI, "Suit Yourself" will introduce eight career areas: communication, education, manufacturing engineering, cosmetology, pharmacology, business, computer science, sports medicine, and social services.
2 Latham hall renovation to be dedicated Sunday (April 22) at University of Northern Iowa. The renovated building now houses the Departments of Earth Science and Home Economics. The dedication will feature a welcome and introductions by President Curris and remarks by Roy Saigo and Donald Whitnah. Two students will speak as well.
3 Regents approve master of public policy degree for University of Northern Iowa. The new master's degree is geared toward development of well-rounded public policy analysts whose backgrounds are appropriate for rural and smaller urban regions such as those found in the state of Iowa.
4 Regents approve University of Northern Iowa residence hall rates for 1990-91. Room and board rate increases for residence halls of four percent, effective with the 1990-91 fall semester, and four percent increase in apartment housing rates for this coming fiscal year. Full board in a double occupancy room will cost $2,326 annually.
5 Schedule of Events. A list of activities and events from Friday, April 20 through Monday, April 23. Gov. Branstad will proclaim UNI Founder's Day for Monday and will receive a copy of "A Century of Leadership and Service" from author Dr. William Lang.
6 University of Northern Iowa presents recommendations for Price Lab School to Iowa board of Regents. Implementing the consultants' recommendations would result in two changes. First, the student composition of the school must continue and broadened. Second staff at the Lab School should consist of 70 percent "master teachers" with clinical faculty status
