1 'Butterfly gardening' topic for June 9 biology seminar at Northern Iowa. Techniques for attracting butterflies to home gardens by the cultivation of common plants and flowers for food and nectar will be covered in a day-long course.
2 Accounting advisory council for University of Northern Iowa holds spring meeting. Gerald Smith informed the Accounting Advisory Council (members listed) of the new requirement of 150 credit hours for an accounting degree, to go into effect in the year 2000. They also chose the recipient of the annual $500 Blanford Scholarship.
3 Moped safety courses to be held at the University of Northern Iowa. Moped riders may receive certification for a moped operator's license by attending two Saturday classes. Instructor for the course us Sgt. Jerry Stewart.
4 Regents approve preliminary budget, other business for University of Northern Iowa. A preliminary general operating budget of $80,610,000 for the 1990-91 fiscal year was presented to the State Board of Regents. The budget reflects a 9 percent increase over the current fiscal year's revised budget of $73,980,000.
5 UNI accounting advisory council meets. Michael McBride of Gustave A. Larson Company, New Berlin, Wis.' director of the Accounting Advisory Council, recently convened the group's spring meeting on campus.
6 UNI accounting advisory council meets. The council assists the nationally ranked UNI Department of Accounting by raising funds for equipment and seminars, and conducting mock interviews for graduating seniors.
