1 alcohol and sexual attitudes survey completed at Northern Iowa. A recent survey shows very low illegal drug usage among students. However, over 50 percent of those surveyed said they had five or more drinks in a row within the last two weeks.
2 Elementary art education: it's not just crayons anymore. Today's young students are learning more about art history, aesthetics and critical thinking about art than they are about Crayolas.
3 Honey in the morning, honey in the evening, Americans are eating it up. The craze for natural foods has been a boom for honey producers. Ken Nuss is also a bee keeper, and says there's more to honey than what we see on the store shelves.
4 Incandescent vs. florescent- changing the bulbs we use would save energy. Researchers have estimated that if we switched from standard incandescent light bulbs to florescent lighting, the amount of energy produced by one nuclear reactor could be saved.
5 Keeping you kids sharp over the summer break- what parents can do. Tom Keller, who counsels students at Northern Iowa's Price Lab School, says most kids need a break, and catch up quickly once school resumes in the fall.
