2 Panther fans reminded of road construction, new smoking law as home season opens Saturday Saturday's season-opener football game is against the University of South Dakota Coyotes. The eastbound lanes of University Avenue are closed between Campus and Tremont Streets, allowing one lane traffic in each direction using the westbound lanes.
3 Space limited for UNI Business and Management Certificate Program: Deadline for registration is Sept. 12 The program consists of 10 one-day sessions. This program is designed for individuals who want to advance their careers and help their organizations grow and succeed. Session topics include communicating and managing conflict; team building and others.
4 UNI professor and student team up for comedy show Doug Shaw, professor of mathematics, and Jordan Meyer, a senior from Waterloo, are teaming up to perform a comedy show, titled "Doug and Jordan: An Evening of solo improv comedy, performed by two people over the course of about an hour."
5 UNI to hold week of events focused on diversity The Center for Multicultural Education will host "Close Up on Diversity," a series of events that focus on diversity. The theme of the week will be "Authenticity and Inclusion."
6 UNI's MentorMe program a win-win for UNI students and business leaders This fall, the University will begin its second year of the MentorMe program, that gives students an opportunity to gain professional development and leadership skills outside the traditional classroom.
7 University of Northern Iowa to host Iowa Electrathon event The Center for Energy and Environmental Education will host the Alliant Energy Iowa Electrathon Championship Series. The Electrathon is a program designed for high-school and college students to use a problem-solving approach to design.
