2 UNI appoints new deans and department heads Several new academic administrators have begun work this semester on the campus. Kurt Meredith is serving as interim assistant provost for international programs. Mary Herring is interim associate dean of the College of Education.
3 UNI honors outstanding faculty for teaching, research, professional service Three faculty members were honored this fall for outstanding teaching, research and professional service, receiving awards valued at $1,000 each. Recipients are: John R. Groves, Lisa K. Jepsen, and Daniel J. Power.
4 UNI's Wellness and Recreation Center offers programs filled with fun, fitness and adventure for the public WRS invites residents of the Cedar Valley to explore the possibilities of the Noontime Bazsketball Association, the Master's Swim program or the Climbing Club. These fee-based programs are housed in the WRC.
5 Visiting artist to demonstrate technique during pottery workshop at UNI The Department of Art and the Northern Iowa Potters and Sculptors are hosting a student workshop with visiting artist Matt Long Oct. 16-17. Long will demonstrate his work at the potter's wheel making thrown porcelain pots and vessels.
