1 'Media Bias: It's Not What You Think!' topic for 'News Talk' Nov.1 "News Talk" provides an opportunity to discuss the news of the day from local, regional or national newspapers and to hear the views of guest speakers such as editors, reporters, and faculty with expertise in the media.
2 Citizen Science series to begin at UNI J. Ben Schafer, associate professor of computer science, will present the first talk, "Zymurgy--The Science of Brewing Beer. The series is intended to make the technical accessible.
3 UNI Parent Association board held meeting during Family Weekend Members and leaders were updated on university happenings and highlights. Parents toured the ITTC, as well as the newly renovated Gilchrist Hall. UNIPA functions in an advisory role to the administration, faculty, and staff.
4 UNI Rod Library announces 'Student of the Month' Emilina Kurtovic, a sophomore from Waterloo has been working in the Reference and Instructional Services department. She assists patrons, shelves books, works on the floor and troubleshoots priter problems.She is a native of Bosnia.
5 UNI Strayer-Wood Theatre presents 'Three Sisters,' Nov. 6-16 A classic Russian drama by Anton Chekhov explores the search for happiness and the meaning of life in a story of young sisters stranded in a small town but longing for the big city, bright lights and the passion of true love.
