1 Local comedy improv troupe to hold auditions The six-year-old troupe, Half-Masted 3.2, is instructed and directed by Doug Shaw, UNI associate professor of mathematics. Members perform a weekly family-friendly show every Friday at 6:30 p.m. at the Cedar Falls Public Library.
2 Register now for UNI workshop on managing multiple priorities
Enrollment deadline is Feb. 10
The management workshop, "Managing Multiple Priorities: Organization and Time Management," participants will learn why many people struggle with organization and time management and how to use a prioritizing plan.
3 Two UNI science professors awarded Iowa Power Fund grants Martin Chin, associate professor of chemistry and biochemistry, was awarded more than $78,000 for his project, and Tim Kidd, assistant professor of physics, was awarded $400,000. The grants are to help the state achieve energy independence.
4 UNI Accounting Club elects officers The UNI Accounting Club is one of the largest student organizations on campus with approximately 300 current members. The officers were elected for the 2009 leadership term. Members listed.
5 UNI Police seek information about assault on campus Police received an anonymous phone call of an assault near central campus. A male subject was assaulted by four males. The victim was reportedly struck in the face, but didn't require medical treatment for his injuries. Police ask for information.
6 UNI staff honored with the Sue Follon Exemplary Service Award Staff member honorees are: James (Jim) Geary, Tracey Godon, and Joyce Morrow. The award honors employees in the Division of Student Affairs who are committed to quality and excellence and whose efforts and achievements are worthy of emulation.
