1 Education and business partnerships needed to improve math and science education The Iowa Math & Science Education Partnership (IMSEP) will host a series of statewide meetings, "Conversations to Forge Alliances of Business and Schools (ConFABS)," at Iowa's Area Education Agencies to address partnership opportunities between business.
2 Pappajohn launches fourth-annual Iowa Business Plan Competition The competition is designed to stimulate business development and provide support for outstanding business plans. Selected companies will be contacted and invited to submit full business plans.
3 Register now for UNI workshop on managing a multi-generational staff
Enrollment deadline is Feb. 25
Workshop participants will examine the cultural events and life experiences of each generation; learn to identify and appreciate the differences between generations and how to leverage those generations within a team; and practice how to manage conflicts.
4 UNI American Humanics to host Cedar Valley Nonprofit Awards Luncheon The Humanics Student Association is seeking nominations to regognize the outstanding contributions of local nonprofit organizations and their staffs. The association is part of a national network that transforms today's students into tomorrow's leaders.
5 UNI Department of Special Education professor earns national recognition Deborah Gallagher, professor of special education and co-chair of the Disability Studies in Education Special Interest Group of the American Educational Research Association, led the SIG in developing and instituting guidelines for the annual conference.
6 UNI mini-conference to focus on integrating technology into science and math-based classes "Spotlight on Educational Technology will be the tropic of the mini-conference. Educators and some of their students from throughout the state, will talk about their work through table displays, demonstrations and presentations.
