1 Register now for UNI workshop on Discovering Employee Strengths and Coaching to Optimize Performance
Enrollment deadline is April 7
Workshop participants will have the opportunity to understand the value of coaching as a manager, learn how to empower employees to take responsibility for their personal and career development, and recognize opportunities for coaching team members.
2 UNI faculty named to National Education Advisory Committee Nadene Davidson, interim head and assistant professor in the Department of Teaching, at the college, has been appointed to the committee. The committee will meet four times during the next 12 months to address 21st century teaching.
3 UNI instructor presents one-man show, "Walt Whitman Live!" William Koch will be performing as Whitman and speaking on the poet's major themes, observations of American culture, experiences during the Civil War and his views on Abraham Lincoln.
4 UNI School of Music hosts guest artist Philippa Davies in concert Davies plays and broadcasts at international festivals, performing concertos and giving master classes from China to the United States. She has performed concertos with the New Stockholm Chamber Orchestra, the BBC Symphony, and the BBC Philharmonic.
5 UNI to host next Hearst Lecture on April 7 "John Dewey's Vision of Radical Democracy" will be presented by Richard J. Bernstein. Bernstein, Vera List professor of philosophy, New School for Social Research, at New School University in New York, has written numerous books on a variety of topics.
6 UNI-TV students produce alternative news shows Sixteen electronic media students at the College are getting hands-on experience by producing four five-minute news shows per week as part of an experimental production class offered by UNI for the first time this semester.
