1 Co-founder of green chemistry to speak at UNI Wilson lecture "Green Chemistry: Theory and Practice," the 2009 Leland Wilson Endowed Chemistry Lecture at the college, will be presented at 7:30 p.m., Sept. 24, in Lantz Auditorium in McCollum Science Hall. John Warner will present the lecture.
2 Co-founder of green chemistry to speak at UNI Wilson lecture John Warner, president and CTE of the Warner Babcock Institute for Green Chemistry and the Beyond Benign Foundation, will present the lecture called, "Green Chemistry: Theory and Practice." Warner is a renowned and award-winning scientist.
3 Register now for UNI workshop on organization and time management
Enrollment deadline is Sept. 23
The workshop is called "Managing Multiple Priorities: Organization and Time Management. Participants will learn how to handle pressure and stay focused as deadlines near. They also will review time organization management techniques.
4 UNI Museums will host Family Fun Day, Sept. 19 In cooperation with The Cat Chow Project, participants will create cat masks with New York artist Cat Chow, explore the museum with a scavenger hunt, touch real fur and view photographs from the current exhibit, "Images of the Irreplaceable Wild."
5 UNI School of Music to host 28th Annual Scholarship Benefit Concert The concert called "London Escape!," will include performances by: UNI Wind Symphony, with faculty artists Amanda McCandless, clarinet, and Chris Buckholz, trombone; Jazz Band One; Northern Iowa Symphony Orchestra and Coral Ensembles.
6 UNI's Center for Multicultural Education to host 2009-2010 book club This is the third year where the CME will host a book club with participants reading and discussing texts that deal with various cultural expressions and share history, customs, and perspectives that are projected by the four major groups.
