1 Brindley speech and debate tournament returns to UNI After a sever-year absence from the tournament calendar, the College will host the William A. Brindley Invitational Speech and Debate Tournament Friday. Brindley, a former debate coach and professor of public speaking was an innovator in Iowa forensics.
2 Center for Multicultural Education to host speaker Melissa Esquivel Oct. 6 Esquivel, interim administrator of the Iowa Division of Latino Affairs and manager of the Iowa Youth Congress will discuss the impact of Latinos in the United States and Iowa.
3 Lt. Gov. Judge to honor UNI professors with One Iowa Award Thursday, Oct. 1 Lt. Gov. Patty Judge will honor Michelle Devlin and Mark Grey during a special ceremony in the Commons Ballroom. Devlin and Grey established the Iowa Center on Immigrant Leadership and Integration in 2001.
4 UNI Graduate College Brown Bag Lecture Series to feature Stalp Oct. 7 "I Have the Most Fabric: Quilters, Fabric Stash Accumulation, and the Global Phenomenon of Quilting" is the title of a lecture to be given by Marybeth Stalp. The lecture will center on how and why contemporary women quilt.
