The 14th Dalai Lama of Tibet will present "The Power of Education" in a keynote address for the 2010 Joy Cole Corning Distinguished Leadership Lecture Series at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 18, in the McLeod Center. He will focus on the importance of education.
3 UNI Gallery of Art to present 'BFA Exhibition: Garran Gillespie' and book arts exhibition by Minnesota artist 'Fred Hagstrom' Garran Gillespie of Fayetteville, N. C. is pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from UNI with an emphasis in drawing. Fred Hagstrom received his M.F.A. from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln after studying with noted British printmaker in Paris.
4 UNI Individual Events team will host showcase Dec. 9 The showcase, in the Interpreter's Theatre, Lang Hall Room 040, will feature events from the nationally competitive team's fall travel season, including a range of oral interpretation, public address and limited preparation performances. Students listed.
5 UNI New Horizons Band to present winter concert Aaron Hansen, music specialist for Waverly-Shell Rock Schools, will be the featured hand bell soloist performing "Do You Hear What I Hear" and other holiday selections with the band.
