1 New Kappa Delta Pi members initiated during fall ceremony The PSI chapter of Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society in Education initiated 52 students during a ceremony held during the fall 2009 semester. Stephen Fortgang, associate professor educational psychology is faculty adviser. Initiates are listed.
2 NIFFP takes leadership role in Midwest farm-to-school projects Northern Iowa Food and Farm Partnership (NIFFP) was appointed to a co-leadership position for the Midwest region of the National Farm to School Network (NFTSN). NIFFP is a program of the Center for Energy and Environmental Education.
3 UNI Accounting Club names 2010 leadership team "The UNI Accounting Club is one of the largest student organizations on campus with more than 300 current members," said Christine Bauman, PricewaterhouseCoopers professor of accounting and the Accounting Club faculty advisor. Members listed.
4 UNI Gallery of Art to present ceramics exhibition, "Tell Me a Story: Contemporary Narrative Ceramics' The invitational exhibition curated by professor of art, JoAnn Schnabel, will include a variety of contemporary ceramic artwork, both sculptural and vassel-oriented, utilizing narrative or text. Patti Warashina will be guest speaker.
5 UNI interpreters Theatre examines college like through performance The theatre is "Challenging Assumptions through Performance" this season with a variety of performances and showcases. Funding for the production is provided by the Department for Communications Studies, College of Humanities and Fine Arts.
6 UNI student receives wellness and recreation scholarship Kari Dirksen, a junior studying leisure, youth, and human services, was named the spring 2010 recipient of the $500 scholarship. The scholarship is supported by Kathy Green, director of Wellness and Recreation Services and University Health Services.
7 UNI students offer free tax assistance Accounting students are providing free income tax assistance again this year through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. The program will run from Feb. 8 through April 14, excluding March 15-20 (spring break).
