1 Cedar Falls to open new community garden Sunday, May 16
100-square-foot plots cost $15 for a season
To help gardeners learn about gardening with natural pesticides and no herbicides, the garden also includes a 360-square-foot demonstration plot. Food from this plot will be donated to the North East Iowa Food Bank. Grant Schultz is the garden founder.
2 UNI professors take hands-on approach to teach seventh graders about the natural environment Fifty-three seventh graders from Kike-New Hartford Middle School will take a field trip to the Cedar Hills Sand Prairie. Laura Jackson and Jim Desmastes will teach the students about ecosystems and how they work.
